What is the Community Pantry and Sharing Hub?

The Dreamscape Community Pantry and Sharing Hub is a community sharing space created by Dreamscape Community Connections C.I.C.

It is for people who may need a little practical support, people who have items to pass on, people who want to swap useful items, and businesses or organisations who want to support the community.

This may include sealed pantry food, unopened toiletries, clothing, school uniform, household basics, books, games, craft items and sensory friendly resources.

This is not about shame or judgement.

It is about kindness, dignity, fairness and local people supporting one another.

How it works

Complete the joining form

Start by completing the Dreamscape Community Pantry, Sharing Hub and Community Swap Network joining form.

Choose your access route

You can choose paid membership, request the membership link, or ask for sponsored or free access if cost is a barrier.

Join the Facebook group

After the form and membership step, request to join the private Facebook group so Dreamscape can match your details.

Admin approval

Please allow time for Dreamscape to check your form, membership details and Facebook request.

Use the hub fairly

Once approved, you can offer, request, swap or respond to items in line with the group rules.

Items depend on availability

The hub depends on what people donate, offer or swap. Membership does not guarantee items.

What can be shared or requested?

Food cupboard staples

Sealed, unopened and in date cupboard food such as pasta, rice, cereal, soup, tins, sauces, tea, coffee and long life items.

Toiletries and hygiene products

Unopened toiletries and hygiene items such as shampoo, body wash, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, period products and hand wash.

Clothing support

Clean, wearable clothing in good condition, including coats, jumpers, children's clothing, adult clothing and seasonal items.

School uniform swaps

Good quality school uniform such as jumpers, shirts, trousers, skirts, PE kit, shoes and seasonal school items.

Household basics

Cleaning products, laundry items, small kitchen basics, towels, bedding in good condition and practical home items.

Books, games and craft supplies

Books, board games, puzzles, colouring items, craft supplies, stationery, sensory items and low pressure activity resources.

£5 community membership contribution

To help Dreamscape keep the hub safe, organised and moderated, there is a one off community membership contribution from £5.

This helps support admin time, moderation, safety checks, communication, pantry organisation, website costs and Dreamscape’s wider community work.

The £5 gives ongoing access to the private Facebook group only.

It does not guarantee specific items.

Items depend on availability and must be shared fairly.

Can you help or donate items?

We would love to hear from local people who may be able to support the Community Pantry and Sharing Hub.

You may be able to help by donating sealed cupboard food, unopened toiletries, period products, cleaning essentials, good quality clothing, school uniform, household basics, craft supplies, sensory items, books or games.

Please contact Dreamscape before dropping anything off so we can check what is suitable and arrange the best next step.

Safety guidance

Pantry items must be unopened, in date, shelf stable, clearly labelled, not homemade, not chilled or frozen, and not damaged or opened.

Toiletries and hygiene products must be unopened, unused and suitable to be passed on with dignity.

Clothing and school uniform should be clean, freshly washed, wearable and in good condition. Please do not donate clothing that is stained, heavily worn, broken or unsuitable.

We cannot accept or share opened food, homemade food, chilled or frozen food, out of date food, medication, alcohol, vapes, tobacco products, used car seats, used helmets, broken electrical items, unsafe items, recalled items or anything illegal or unsuitable.

Please do not turn up at someone's home without agreement. Please do not pressure anyone to deliver or collect. Please do not drop donations off without speaking to Dreamscape first.

If something feels unsafe, uncomfortable or unsuitable, please contact Dreamscape.

Fair use promise

This hub is based on kindness, fairness and community trust.

Members are expected to:

Be kind and respectful.
Only request what they genuinely need or will use.
Not take items to resell.
Respect people’s privacy.
Arrange collections safely.
Follow admin guidance.
Keep the space non judgemental.

Dreamscape admins may remove posts, pause requests or refuse access if the space is being misused or if safety concerns are raised.

Is this a food bank?

No. The Dreamscape Community Pantry and Sharing Hub is not a formal food bank or crisis service. It is a community sharing space where people may be able to offer, request, swap or donate everyday essentials.

Do I need a referral?

No. You do not need a referral to join the hub.

Do I need to prove I need help?

No. You do not need to provide proof of need. This space is built around dignity, trust and kindness.

Does £5 guarantee items?

No. The £5 contribution gives ongoing access to the private Facebook group. Items depend on availability and must be shared fairly.

Can I join if I do not need pantry support?

Yes. You may want to join because you have items to offer, want to swap, want to reduce waste, want to support others, or may need support in future.

Can businesses get involved?

Yes. Businesses can support through donations, sponsorship, collection points, surplus stock, seasonal campaigns or practical community support.

Can I drop items off?

Please contact Dreamscape first. We need to check what is suitable and arrange a safe way to receive donations.

Is Dreamscape responsible for every item shared?

Dreamscape will do its best to keep the space safe, moderated and fair. However, items shared between members depend on availability and member honesty. Admins may remove unsafe posts or refuse unsuitable items where needed.
