A gentle guide before your first Dreamscape session

Feeling Nervous? Start Here

Trying something new can feel scary, especially when you do not know what to expect. This page is here to gently explain how Dreamscape works, what happens when you arrive, and how you can take part at your own pace. You do not have to feel confident to come. You do not have to know anyone. You do not have to be ready for everything. You can start small.

You Are Not The Only One

Lots of people feel nervous before coming to something new.

You might be wondering what the room will feel like, whether people will talk to you, where to sit, what to say, or what happens if you feel overwhelmed.

At Dreamscape, we understand that these things matter.

Our spaces are created to feel calmer, clearer and less pressured, so you can take things one step at a time.

Before You Come

We try to make information as clear as possible before each session.

Read The Event Details

Each event description explains the date, time, location, activity and any important guidance.

Check The Age Guidance

Most sessions are 17+. Some selected activities may be 13+ with a parent or carer where stated.

Ask Questions First

You can message us before booking if you are unsure, nervous or need more information.

Choose What Feels Manageable

You can start with the session that feels like the gentlest first step.

What Happens When You Arrive?

Every venue and session is slightly different, but we aim to keep things gentle and clear.
  1. 1

You arrive at the venue and follow the event details.

  2. 2

A Dreamscape Community Companion will help you settle in where possible.

  3. 3

You can choose where to sit and how much you want to join in.

  4. 4

You can take breaks, step away, observe, or leave early if you need to.

There is no pressure to walk in feeling confident. You can arrive exactly as you are.

Do I Have To Talk?

No. You do not have to talk before you are ready.

You Can Listen

You are welcome to sit quietly and listen.

You Can Observe

You can watch what is happening before deciding whether to join in.

You Can Join Gently

You can take part in small ways, at your own pace.

What If I Feel Overwhelmed?

If things feel too much, you are allowed to pause.
  • You can take a break
  • You can step outside where safe to do so
  • You can sit quietly
  • You can message us beforehand about worries
  • You can leave early if needed
  • You do not have to explain everything

Needing a break does not mean you have failed. It means you are listening to yourself.

Can I Come Alone Or Bring Someone?

You do not need to arrive in one specific way. When booking, choose the number of people attending by selecting the ticket quantity, then add to basket and check out.

Coming Alone

Yes, you can come alone. Many people do. Simply select 1 ticket, add it to your basket, and check out. We aim to make the space feel gentle and welcoming so you can settle in slowly.

Coming With Someone

Where suitable for the session, you may be able to come with a friend, support person, parent or carer. Please select the correct number of tickets for everyone attending, add them to your basket, and check out.

Please check the event description before booking, as age guidance, support options and available spaces may vary.
