Introducing A Seat at the Christmas Table

On 22 July 2026, Dreamscape Community Connections C.I.C. announced a welcoming Christmas event designed to give local people a place to belong, share a meal and enjoy a little festive magic.

A Seat, a Meal and a Little Christmas Magic

On 22 July 2026, Dreamscape Community Connections C.I.C. introduced A Seat at the Christmas Table.

The event will take place on Sunday 22 November 2026 and aims to welcome around 100 people from Heanor and surrounding areas for a relaxed and inclusive Christmas celebration.

Christmas can be a difficult or lonely time for many people. Some may not have family nearby, while others may find traditional parties, busy venues or unfamiliar social situations overwhelming.

A Seat at the Christmas Table is being created so that more people can enjoy Christmas in a welcoming environment where there is no pressure to socialise in a particular way.

What we hope to provide

Depending on final funding, donations and sponsorship, we hope each ticket will include:

  • A full Christmas meal from GG’s Catering
  • Dessert
  • Festive entertainment and activities
  • A welcoming place at the Christmas table
  • A quiet area and sensory space
  • Pocket-money gifts
  • A visit from Santa and an elf from PDP Storybook Characters
  • The opportunity to enjoy Christmas alongside other members of the community

Ticket prices

We are hoping to keep them low and affordable for all.

Adults: £10
Young people: £7.50
Children: £5

The event is about much more than providing a meal. It is about creating positive memories, reducing loneliness and making sure people know there is somewhere they are welcome.

Helping us create the event

Since announcing A Seat at the Christmas Table on 22 July 2026, we have begun inviting local businesses, organisations and individuals to support the event through sponsorship, donations, gifts, prizes and practical help.

Every contribution will help us provide more Christmas magic and make the event as welcoming and accessible as possible.

Whether someone attends alone, with family, with a friend or with a carer, we want every person to feel that their place at the table matters.

Because everyone deserves a seat, a meal and a little Christmas magic.
