Creativity, Cake and Connection at Cake & Create

On 21 July 2026, Dreamscape Community Connections C.I.C. held its Cake & Create activity.

The session gave attendees the opportunity to decorate their own cakes in a calm, welcoming and low-pressure environment.

There was no need for any previous decorating experience and no expectation for anyone’s creation to look perfect. Everyone was encouraged to decorate their cake in their own way and at their own pace.

Attendees were welcome to chat, listen, quietly focus on their decorating or take a break whenever needed.

Having a creative activity to focus on can make social situations feel easier. It removes some of the pressure to maintain constant conversation and allows connections to develop naturally.

Every finished cake was different, reflecting the creativity and personality of the person who made it.

A special thank you goes to Joanne from Café Jaks, who kindly made the cakes for the session. Her support helped make the activity possible and gave everyone lovely cakes to decorate and enjoy.

Dreamscape activities are not about competition or perfection. They are about trying something new, building confidence and spending time alongside others in a way that feels comfortable.
